It has been an entire month since the explosion and the burning of this well began and so far no one has been able to harness the raging fires and cap the well. No one has been able to determine the cause of the May 29th (8th of the Persian month of Khordaad) explosion that lead to the one-month long fire. It is estimated that the oil being lost equals approximately 8000 to 9000 barrels per day. The Iranian oil company has no clear date for resolving the situation. And yet members of the Iranian regime continue to cover up this disaster, while insisting on making a show of offering the U.S. and British Petroleum assistance in dealing with the spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
* * Below: A video from the northern Iranian city of Rasht where on Thursday, June 24th at 8 p.m. a patrol car of the morality and guidance police stopped a mother and daughter wanting to detain them. The mother confronts the guards and tells them that they would have to take them away over her dead body when the guards get out of the car with a baton and begin beating the mother. At that moment, everyone on the street gathers around in support of the mother and daughter and begin booing and chanting “Dictator, dictator”, forcing the guards to get back in their patrol car and drive away, out of the fear of the crowd.
